BOARDWALK
DECKING

Tropical Forest Products is your go-to hardwood distributor for large commercial boardwalk decking. We proudly carry some of the most dense and resistant hardwood species that nature has created, ensuring that the boardwalks we build are as stable and durable as possible. Ipe hardwood, the preferred species for this type of application, is as strong as steel, with a Class A fire resistance rate, guaranteeing a solid end result for your project.

As direct importers of tropical hardwoods from Brazil, no order is too big or too complex for us to handle. If you need any kind of custom milled profile, just let us know.

SUPERIOR STABILITY

Tropical hardwood species have thick-walled fiber cells that produce extremely dense and strong wood. The Janka hardness test determines the pressure required to embed a small steel ball into the surface of a wood board. At 3,680 pounds of pressure, Ipe’s Janka score is three and a half times greater than Teak, and nearly nine times that of second-growth redwood.

STAND THE TEST OF TIME

Tropical hardwoods can last up to 75 years with proper maintenance. They can be easily cleaned with a pressure washer and lightly coated with tropical deck finishes to maintain its natural appearance. With no maintenance, Ipe can be left to naturally weather to a consistent light silver appearance.

WATER AND MOISTURE RESISTANT

Tropical hardwoods are among the most durable lumbers on earth, with exceptional resistance to decay, rot, and insect attack. They have a natural oil that keeps bugs and borers out. It is resistant to mildew and decay and unaffected by sea or salt air, making it ideal for coastal construction.
